Eric Kyle and Boggle - the adventure continues - 5-14-05
Update on Boggle
Tuesdsay May 3 I received an email from the co-director at Midwest Boston Terrier rescue. She had a home visit for him on Tuesday May 10. I received a phone call from the co-director on Wed night. She said that the home visit went really well. In fact the future owners calle and wanted my phone number. When I arrived home on Thursday there was a msg waiting for me. I returned her phone call. Sandy called me back that night and we talked for about 1/2 hour. She said that they would talk it over and get back to me. Jim was off on Friday. He checked the message machine. Sandy called and said that they wanted Boggle and that her son and husband were leaving tonight and would meet us half way to pick up Boggle. She just needed to know where and what time.
Jim and I left on Saturday (this morning) about 8:30 and headed to Merriville IN. We got there and Kyle was so excited. His dad said that he woke up at 3:30 am and said is he here yet? We were with them about an hour. Boggle did really well. He didn't cry near as much I as did. I made it 4 hours and only cried 3 times.
We recieved an email from the family: I have added it below:

I am sure you are both anxious for news on Boggle. He seems to be attaching
to Eric more than anyone else. He has a little wicker bed in thekitchen
with the blanket you gave him to rest in. He loves being in the fence in
pool area, he ran across the pool, which still had the winter loop loc cover
on it, so thank goodness he did not fall in just got a little wet, but he
kind of liked it and sat down and took a drink!
I will send some pictures probably tomorrow so you can track his progress.
He is getting along fine with our two labs, they ran a lot this afternoon.
In fact we had our first escape chase. Eric didn't think he would "take
off", but he did and we were all pretty scared for a while but we were able
to catch him.(He got on the scent of a rabbitt and started his beagle bark
and he was gone. He seemed to be having a good time, but now he is safe in
the house, VERY tired and just laying around with my oldest son on his bed.
Note to Eric DO NOT let him out without being on a lead!!! I know after a
few days he will be fine and he will stay in the yard, because he does have
a lot of space to run and he will always be able to run so it won't be such
a big deal for him. He watched our lab play fetch with a tennis ball and
then he went and found a tennis ball and fetched it also. It was pretty
cute!
Thanks again for taking such good care of him and we will promise we will do
the same.
More later
Sandy
So Jim and I know now that he is in a good home. I will sleep better tonight.
